چکیده

Statement of problem Information on the mechanical properties materials used for manufacturing computer-engineered complete dentures is scarce. Purpose The purpose this in vitro study was to evaluate 3 prepolymerized polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) resins fabrication computer-aided design and (CAD-CAM) milled (CDs), as well 2 denture base polymers conventionally fabricated CDs. Material methods Three CAD-CAM were evaluated: Degos Dental L-Temp, IvoBase CAD, Zirkonzahn Temp Basic Tissue. Two manufactured also included controls (Palapress Paladon 65). Each material type sectioned into bars flexural strength, nanohardness, elastic modulus, surface microhardness evaluation (n=8/material). Half specimens stored water 30 days, while other half dry-stored. A 2-way ANOVA conducted detect effect storage evaluated (α=.05). Linear contrasts compare differences among types conventional ones. Results had a significant influence hardness investigated (P<.001). post hoc Scheffé test strength revealed nonsignificant difference interaction between L-Temp (P=1.000). In terms no found when comparing Palapress with Paladon, CAD (P=.575). Conclusions tested showed variation their properties, satisfactory behavior materials. However, results obtained testing suggest that use might still be advisable.

Fabricating complete dentures with CAD/CAM technology.

Conventional complete denture prosthetics require several appointments to register the maxillomandibular relationship and evaluate the esthetics. The fabrication of milled complete dental prostheses with digital scanning technology may decrease the number of appointments. The step-by-step method necessary to obtain impressions, maxillomandibular relation records, and anterior tooth position wit...

Trial of a CAD/CAM system for fabricating complete dentures.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the fabrication of a complete denture using a CAD/CAM system. Cone beam CT was used to measure the complete denture and the artificial teeth. After a 3D complete denture image was structured using 3D CAD software, we factored out the artificial teeth and obtained a 3D denture base image. A machining center cut an acrylic resin block, and fabricated an a...

Total CAD/CAM Supported Method for Manufacturing Removable Complete Dentures

The incorporation of computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technology into complete denture fabrication brings about several advantages to the fabrication process, providing better predictability of the desired outcomes and high accuracy of denture fit, mainly because the milling of prepolymerized acrylic resin eliminates the shrinkage of the acrylic base. Also, there is ...

Accuracy of Digitally Fabricated Wax Denture Bases and Conventional Completed Complete Dentures

The purpose of this investigation was to analyze the accuracy of digitally fabricated wax trial dentures and conventionally finalized complete dentures in comparison to a surface tessellation language (STL)-dataset. A generated data set for the denture bases and the tooth sockets was used, converted into STL-format, and saved as reference. Five mandibular and 5 maxillary denture bases were mill...
